The Champions Twenty20 League, formed with the official sanction of ICC will kick off in October 2008. Eight domestic teams from four nations will participate. Cricket Australia will partner the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) and Cricket South Africa (CSA). The champion team in the Champions Twenty20 league will get US $5 million, which is the highest ever prize money for a cricket event.

Neo Cricket to telecast series against Australia, England

India’s Test series against Australia followed by the series against England will be telecast live in Neo Cricket.India will play four Tests against Australia beginning Oct 9. India will then host England for seven ODIs and two Tests starting Nov 14.
The channel has come up with extensive programming package like Sportszone, Tour diary Playback and Extra Cover for the events.
“Neo has lined up the biggest experts and a marathon line up of programmes - Cricketthon - with round the clock coverage of cricket,” said Abhishek Verma, marketing and communication head of Neo Sport Broadcast.
The channel has roped in Sunil Gavaskar, Ravi Shastri, Alan Border, Brendon Julian, Mark Nicholas and L. Silva in their commentary team while Mohinder Amarnath and Ian Chappell will give their expert comments on Extra Cover.
Neo Cricket, which owns the rights for the domestic matches, will start its coverage from the Irani Trophy match between Ranji Trophy winners Delhi and Rest of India on Sep 28.
